Getting Rich Principles - Essential 10 Point Overview To Creating An Abundant Life

By Sergio S. Brooks

If you are working through "The Science of Getting Rich," Then you start with a vision that encompasses all of your senses. If you stop there you just engage in wishful thinking. So what is next? The formula is in this simple quote from the book: By thought, the thing you want is brought to you; by action you receive it.Hold this idea as you practice the ideas from the book and you will activate the law of attraction. Here are the next two steps: Continue to nurture the vision: "Hold the faith and purpose of increase," Wattles says, in the book. Don't allow your thoughts to slide back on circumstance or on anything but your vision, your compelling future. If contrary thoughts creep in you must replace them with thoughts of your future.

I believe this practical approach explains why The Science of Getting Rich is even more popular today than it was a 100 years ago.Wallace Wattles writes that getting rich is an "exact science". There are certain laws, that when learned, will lead you to riches with "mathematical certainty".These laws hinge on one fundamental principle - the power of thought. Wattles explains that anything we desire, be it a house or a large bank account, can come into existence simply by "impressing (our) thought upon formless substance."However simple this may sound, he says that in order to do this, we must abandon any competitive nature we may have and use our creative mind. Formless Intelligence, as Wattles calls it, is never competitive in spirit. In The Science of Getting Rich, Wattles emphasizes that we must get rid of the notion that there is some Deity in the sky who wants us to be poor. He believes that choosing a life of poverty for altruistic reasons is no better than those who lead extremely selfish lives.

He states: "Put poverty behind you, and put all that pertains to it behind you." Being rich, Wattles believes, is the best way anyone can truly help the poor. The Law of Gratitude is an important component of The Science of Getting Rich. Wattles strongly asserts that, even if we are following all other laws, failing to be thankful will keep us stuck in poverty. In other words, if I constantly focus on the negative things happening around me, I "loose ground" and continue to attract more negative things into my life. The concept of gratitude took me a while to grasp, but it is key!Focus on everything that is currently right in your life and thank God, the Universe, or, as Wattles calls it "Intelligent Substance". It doesn't really matter what you call it, just be thankful! To attract what you desire in live you must have a very clear picture of what it is you want, hold onto it in your mind and always be thankful!Meagan Gagnon lives in Ottawa the capital of Canada with her dog Moxy. A fan of the Law of Attraction, she is still trying to figure out how to get it to work,

If you have read part 2 of this article called "The Science of Getting Rich - How Anyone Can Become Rich - Part 2" then you will already have discovered that being creation oriented rather than competitive and; thinking and acting in a Certain Way will result in you becoming rich. Here in Part 3 we further explore practices in the science of getting rich.

As you can see, there is an elegant simplicity to the science of getting rich principles Wattles describes in his book. Those who have learned to master these principles have achieved remarkable life abundance and success. You've got information overload when you know the names, and can quote, Tony Robbins, Zig Ziglar, Jim Rohn, Esther Hicks, Bob Procter, Brian Tracy, Napoleon Hill, Norman Vincent Peale, Dale Carnegie, Jack Canfield, Rhonda Byrne and a thousand others. You've literally read the book, seen the film and bought the T-Shirt but has it really altered your life for the better? Or rather, has it really altered your life dramatically for the better? Sure, now your thought process is more focused, sharper, more streamlined and permits you to resolve problems quicker, faster and better. These days you always maintain a positive image in your mind and you always read your goals out aloud before bedtime but what has been the overall net benefit? Not really sure?

THE ADVANCING MAN is one who holds a clear vision of himself as successful in his field, who obeys the laws of faith and purpose, and gratitude. No matter whether you're a wage-earner or a businessman; whether you're a doctor, teacher, clergyman etc., you will attract a large loyal following and never be "out of a job"! The man who is certain to advance is one who knows what he wants and can become. Do not try to fill more of your present place with a view to pleasing your employer; rather, do it with the idea of advancing yourself. When an opportunity to be more than you are now is presented and you feel impelled towards it, take it. It will be the first step toward a greater opportunity. There is no such thing in the universe as a lack of opportunity for the man who is living the advancing life.

Some cautions and concluding observations - There is no limited supply of wealth. Governments keep the masses in poverty only because the masses allow this to happen by not thinking and acting in a Certain Way. If the masses were to move forward as suggested in this book; all systems would have to modify to accommodate this forward movement. The more men get rich on the competitive plane, the worse for others. Also, don't spend any time worrying about how you will meet possible emergencies. Concern your mind with doing today's work in a perfectly successful manner. No possible combination of circumstance can defeat a man or woman who is proceeding to get rich in the Certain Way.

A friend of mine suggested I read The Science Of Getting Rich by New Thought writer Wallace Wattles. She explained that this book had inspired Rhonda Byrne and the makers of the film The Secret and it's accompanying book, coincidentally also called The Secret! She's a smart girl and if she said it's so, it's good enough for me... and Rhonda Byrne has since confirmed this to Oprah.I knew of Wallace Wattles but had never read The Science Of Getting Rich. I regret that now. Ironically, I already had this book in my possession. It had been lying in my vast digital library collecting cyber dust.My mom always said to me 'Think happy, else your worst fears will always happen'. She was telling me exactly what the motivational leaders and personal development cadre write about today. That whatever you think about most will happen, that your dominant thinking creates your physical reality.Wattles wrote about this phenomena in 1910! Today in the 2010's a thousand business gurus, new-ageists, Jedi Masters and self-improvement ninjas throw this line at you all day long. Wattles exposed this 'secret' over a hundred years ago!Wattles writes directly AT you and pulls no punches. He doesn't hide behind phrases or rhymes or sound bites. He says it like it is, his words are crystal and he spells it out repeatedly so you get the message.

And the message is short and sweet because the truth is always short and sweet. Most people don't need 645 pages to learn about the 'secret'. Most just want someone to say 'do this, do this then this will happen'. Most people want an instruction leaflet, a quick start manual, a 'how to'. In my opinion, Wallace Wattles' masterpiece is just that. Tell me what I want to know in a 55 or so pages and I'll listen to you and follow you up the mountain and make the tea! Wattles says some things in this book that would be considered controversial in 2010 never mind 1910! He touches on religion, family, the poor and even on information overload but his thinking makes sense, it all adds up, it hits the mark. All opinions are subjective hence personal and so, in my opinion, this book reveals simply the best advice for anyone seeking the formula to create, attain or attract wealth, success and life-enhancement. Neither Wallace Wattles nor I can guarantee you'll get rich or wealthy but after reading The Science Of Getting Rich, you might... and, in the end, you might even get the girl (or the guy).
