Apart from secular gatherings, church meetings also follow some format even though it is not usually so strict as compared to what secular organizations do. After the message, another round of praises is done for the offerings. People are expected to dance to the altar as they sing in appreciation of how God has been to them in the past week. Apart from the weekly thanksgiving offerings, others that are collected and prayed for include tithes, welfare offerings, and seed offerings.
Announcements come almost at the end of the service. This is also the time when the church would want to know the people that are coming around for the first time. The first timers are welcomed with a song and they are led to see a follow-up coordinator or the welfare coordinator.
The recession takes place after everything. The recession is usually done in the same manner as the procession. The recessional hymn is taken from the hymn book so that everybody can participate. The priest says the last prayer and thereafter charges his congregation to go in the peace of the Lord. If the members have no cell group meeting, they are then free to go home.
