However, one can only go into this field if he has enough experience.
Now one of the most important things that counselors would have to do aside from listening to the patients would be to give therapy. There are many types of therapy that the counselor will be learning which he will be using during the sessions. If needed, counselors may even perform psychotherapy.

However, if he has a passion for listening to people, then this job is suited for him as he is able to take that negative energy and turn it into something positive.
