If you become a codependent, the one who will suffer is not only you but your partner as well. Being a codependent just means that you are giving something in the relationship just so you can get something out of it. If you go on with that kind of codependency mindset in this relationship, sooner or later, this relationship will go downhill.

If you want to be involved in a good relationship with your partner, then you got to do your best to avoid becoming a codependent. There should be a few tricks up your sleeve that you may take advantage of to avoid being in such a situation. First, you need proper counseling. Through proper counseling, you turn yourself into a healthy individual. Indulging yourself in a healthy relationship is possible then once you become a healthy individual. Being a codependent means that you are offering what you expect you will get. If you do not wish to become like that, then you have to give your all into the relationship and expect nothing in return. You need to give your unconditional love to your partner.
