The Hero We Need In Our World

By Evan Sanders

A lion doesn't concern itself with the opinion of sheep. Game Of Thrones, George R.R. Martin

We are living in a pretty coarse world.

Every time someone rises in this world there are 100 wolves making an attempt to bring him down. They come out in packs with their piercing sharpened teeth looking for techniques to destroy anything they can sink into... and regularly, they're pretty successful in doing it. It's terrible what happens to people in this day and age who are attempting to do something in this world. It doesn't matter if it's positive even, the wolves will always find a way. I suspect this is the way that it has always been? Maybe it'll always be this way.

But we need a new type of hero.

We need a lion who doesn't concern itself with the views of those sheep who've never stepped into and failed in the arena. That's the type of hero we need. Not someone that was born great, but male or female who built themselves from the ashes in the chasm and who will regularly take a stand for what they believe in and what they love.

Wouldn't that give the people something to root for? I think as a society we are deeply obsessed perfect figures - whether or not that be a body or a type of personlity. We idealize this concept of perfection and yet there actually is no such thing. What we truly need is someone who admits imperfection and celebrates it. And, in spite of having that deep sense of being flawed, strives to grow every single day and bring light into the globe.

We actually need somebody who will rise above all the nonsense and take a stand for something greater than simply money, sex, drugs, and so on. We need an ordinary man or woman - ready to be extraordinary in faith, love, and compassion.
